RF Planning & Design

Clarke TelecomOur Radio Planners have a wide experience over many years in the planning of macro and in-building GSM, UMTS and WiFi networks. We have detailed working experience of candidate site assessment using radio-planning tools, site visits and panoramic photography to provide the technical justification required for planning consent.

The scope of works covers the initial feasibility study and development justification leading to nominal and detailed RF Planning, site design and installation. RF design is carried out utilising NP Workplace or using our customers’ own bespoke planning tools.

We are able to undertake high level network/site design to identify factors such as quantity of sites required to meet customer marketing/geographical requirements and its associated risks and costs. This will be followed by a detailed network/site design to identify site configuration, capacity requirements, transmission paths, etc.

RF planning is undertaken to the Ten Commitments and to the DCLG Code of Best Practice on Mobile Phone Network Development. We undertake ICNIRP calculations, including shared sites using data provided by other network operators in order to ensure adherence.
