Acquisition, Planning and Design
Prior to carrying out site finding surveys, Clarke Telecom's Acquisition Surveyors work closely with radio planners to fully understand coverage requirements and target areas. After carrying out further enquiries and establishing landlord/site provider interest in accommodating the site, a detailed report is then produced showing the various site options.
Once a site has been selected by the radio planners, the team will finalise negotiations and secure an early access undertaking to allow legal access to the site subject to planning consent prior to legal completion. Our T&C Planners will conduct pre-application and undertake all planning, prior approval submissions and presentations to Planning Committees.
Throughout the acquisition process, the Acquisition Surveyors work closely with the planning, design and construction teams to ensure the best possible success rate for the selected site options. Clarke Telecom’s Acquisition Surveyors have legally accessed over 800 sites on behalf of UK operators.
Clarke Telecom’s design office ensures that site designs reflect the best interests of clients for buildability, quality, value and future network requirements in order to minimise through life costs.
Clarke Telecom’s experienced structural engineers are successful in finding innovative design solutions to reduce costs to clients. The team will gladly take on "difficult" sites whose designs by others have been rejected, and re-engineer them to produce workable designs that fit clients' cost models.
Animated visualisations or photo-realistic montages are produced routinely for Town Planners when it is important to assess the visual impact of developments. Many clients are sensitive to the impact that building and telecom projects may have on the environment and are just as keen to illustrate care is taken in designing installations for every location.
Working closely with the planning departments allows the design team to produce schemes that meet both clients' operational needs and LPA preferences for positioning and appearance. Clarke Telecom have designed and constructed various different solutions to minimise visual impact, such as silos, trees, flagpoles, and GRP shrouding to blend in to existing building fabric.
